PUSIMOS PROTECCIÓN RESPIRATORIA DE VERDAD EN LA CAJA

CÓMO FUNCIONA EL KIT PROFESIONAL DE RESTAURACIÓN DE VIDRIO

Cada almohadilla tiene una función específica. Usted elige el Paso inicial correcto según la condición del vidrio, prueba la corrección y luego continúa con cada Paso siguiente en secuencia.

No es necesario empezar cada trabajo con el Paso 1. Para daño severo — rayones profundos, daño por ácido, grafiti grabado con ácido — el Paso 1 puede ser necesario. Para la mayoría de los trabajos de nivel medio, pruebe primero el Paso 2. Para defectos superficiales más ligeros, daño por agua dura, depósitos minerales, raspaduras, neblina, marcas de limpiaparabrisas o rayones finos, puede empezar en el Paso 3, 4 o 5.

AJUSTES RECOMENDADOS DE LA MÁQUINA

Velocidad recomendada: aproximadamente 2,500–3,500 RPM. La pulidora incluida cubre este rango en los ajustes 4 al 8.

Mantenga la herramienta plana, estable y bajo control. No use velocidad excesiva, no se quede demasiado tiempo en un solo punto y no sobrecaliente el vidrio. Use el termómetro infrarrojo en lugar de adivinar — para cuando el daño por calor se ve, ya es permanente. El objetivo es una corrección controlada, no forzar la herramienta contra la superficie.

¿PARA CUÁNTOS TRABAJOS ALCANZA ESTE KIT?

Las almohadillas de este kit profesional de restauración de vidrio cubren aproximadamente 5–13 trabajos, y dónde caiga depende del daño. El daño ligero — rayones superficiales, manchas de agua dura, manchas, neblina, marcas de limpiaparabrisas — queda hacia la parte alta. El daño profundo o severo como el grabado ácido y el grafiti grabado con ácido queda hacia la parte baja. El tamaño del vidrio, la velocidad de la máquina y cuántos Pasos realmente necesite mueven el número dentro de ese rango.

LO QUE ESTE KIT PROFESIONAL DE RESTAURACIÓN DE VIDRIO NO VA A HACER

No lo va a volver bueno en esto en una tarde. El vidrio no perdona — demasiado calor y lo deforma, demasiada presión en un punto y lo ahueca, y ninguna de las dos cosas tiene reparación. Preferimos que practique una hora en vidrio de desecho antes que aprender en la fachada comercial de un cliente.

No funciona en superficies polarizadas, con recubrimiento o Low-E, porque el pulido quita los recubrimientos. No cubre parabrisas; el vidrio automotriz laminado es su propia disciplina. Y no va a arreglar daño que no puede alcanzar — un rayón en la cara interior de una unidad sellada está fuera del alcance de cualquier kit.

    I’ve had this for a little while now so wanted to wait before reviewing it. The biggest advantage for me is organization. Before this I had a polisher in one box, compounds somewhere else, random pads from different companies and half the time something was missing when I got to a job. Now the whole glass setup lives in one bag. I’ve done light scratches, hard water and one pretty nasty post construction window with it. You definitely need to learn which Step to start with. Also use the temperature gun. Seriously. Not cheap, but for somebody actually charging for restoration work I think it makes sense.

    Good kit and it definitely works, but I underestimated the learning curve. My complaint isn’t really about what’s in the box because it has basically everything. I just would’ve liked more real-job examples showing when to choose Step 2 vs 3 vs 4. I started too aggressive a couple times while practicing. Once you understand that part the system is pretty straightforward.

    I’m starting a small restoration business and was stuck for weeks researching machines, RPM, compounds, pads, respirators, backing plates… every person online recommends something different. Eventually I said screw it and bought the complete setup. That was probably the right decision for me. Instead of researching equipment I’m actually practicing now. I’ve done around 8 pieces of scrap glass and two small paid jobs. Still slow, still checking temperature constantly, but the results are there. If you already own everything maybe you don’t need the all-in-one. Starting from zero like I was? Makes a lot of sense.

    Waited about a month before writing this because a review after opening the box doesn’t tell anybody much. So far I’ve used the kit on construction scratches, hard water, one shower door and acid damage on storefront glass. The thing I appreciate most now is actually the Step system. When I first opened the bag I thought seven different pads seemed like overcomplicating it. After doing different types of damage I understand why they’re separate. You don’t attack every piece of glass the same way. I also learned pretty quickly that faster isn’t better. My first few practice pieces got way hotter than they should have because I was trying to force the correction. Now the temperature gun basically stays next to me the entire job. The machine has plenty of power, the bag keeps everything together and I haven’t had to buy another major tool to actually use the system. Is $1500 cheap? No. But I’m not buying this to polish my bathroom mirror once. It’s equipment I use to charge customers for restoration work. Looking at it that way, I’m happy with what I got.

    After a few jobs I can see why the finishing pads last differently than the correction pads. Being able to reorder by Step is the right way to do it.
