What every job has in common
- The estimate is the price. If the job turns out bigger than the photos showed, you hear it before we touch the glass, and you decide.
- We say no when replacement is cheaper. On a small ordinary pane it sometimes is, and we would rather tell you than take the job.
- Work is done in place — your frames, hinges and seals stay where they are, and nothing has to match a new pane.
- Best effort, stated upfront. Where damage runs into the frame there is always some risk, and you hear about it before we start.
Rather do it yourself?
The same pad system our crews use is sold as a DIY kit. Light scratches and mineral deposits are genuinely a do-it-yourself job.
Deep etching over a whole frontage is not, and we will tell you which one you are looking at before you spend anything.

Questions we get asked
Can scratched glass really be restored, or does it have to be replaced?
Restored, in most cases. We work on the pane that is already in your frame — the damaged surface is taken down in stages and polished back to clear, in place. Nothing has to be ordered, and nothing has to match a new pane. Where the damage is too deep to take out safely, we tell you that instead of taking the job.
How do I tell a scratch from etching?
Run a fingernail across it. If your nail catches, it is a scratch. If the glass feels smooth but looks cloudy or stained, that is etching — minerals or acid that have eaten into the surface. Both are our work; the difference decides where we start.
Can you fix chips or cracks?
No. Chips and cracks are structural and the pane has to be replaced — we will tell you straight rather than sell you something that cannot work. Polishing takes off surface damage, it does not put glass back.
Can salt-water staining near the ocean be corrected?
Yes. Coastal glass collects mineral deposits that etch into the surface the same way hard water does inland. It is the same process for us, and cleaning will not touch it once it has etched.
Is my glass tinted, coated or Low-E — does that matter?
It matters a lot. Polishing removes coatings, so coated, tinted and Low-E surfaces change what we recommend and sometimes change the answer to whether we take the job. Tell us what you have, or make sure it shows in the photos.
How do I get an estimate, and is it free?
Free, and usually the same day. Text photos to 818-356-1345: one shot of the whole pane, then a close-up taken at an angle with light running across the glass, plus how many panes and where they are. That is enough to tell you whether it restores and what it will take.
